Cainiao Smart Gateway is a state-of-the-art smart logistics center situated in the Hong Kong International Airport. Thanks to its prime location, advanced logistics facilities, and transportation network, it enables faster processing of air freight, shortened delivery times, greater efficiency, reduced costs, and expanded logistics networks

With a height of up to 11.3 meters and an architecture design capable of bearing loads of 17.5kPa to 25kPa, Cainiao Smart Gateway spans 12 floors and covers a total rental area of 4,100,000 square feet, allowing for high-density shelving for storage of goods. The warehouse features automated systems such as Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS), AGV automatic guided vehicles and conveyor belts, allowing operations to run with minimal headcount. The double-sided cargo platform design, together with direct ramps on each floor, allows for high volume flow of goods, enhancing operational efficiency.

Cainiao Smart Gateway will commence operations in Q3 2023, leveraging opportunities brought about by large-scale infrastructure investments, such as the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge in 2018 and the upcoming third runway at the airport scheduled to launch in 2024, greatly expanding capacity. Establishing a logistics hub at the air cargo terminal will contribute significantly to e-commerce giants expanding their global networks and international express delivery speed. Furthermore, as part of the Cainiao global network, Cainiao Smart Gateway will facilitate cross-border e-commerce between China and the world.

Hong Kong Cingleot Investment Management Limited, a joint venture lead by Cainiao Network (a subsidiary of Alibaba Group) and including China National Aviation Holding Corporation Limited and Yuantong Express, has been established in 2018 to develop, manage and operate Cainiao Smart Gateway at Hong Kong International Airport.
